A national government accountability group released a report Tuesday that says Colorado ranks in the middle of the pack for election preparedness among the 10 states seen as key to the outcome of this November’s election.

The report — from Common Cause, an organization that works for more openness in government — says Colorado lags behind the other states in laws to prevent voter intimidation, doesn’t do enough to ensure adequate training for poll workers and has questions lingering over its online voter-registration database, which will get its first general election test in November.

The report lauded Colorado for giving voters ample options for voting, including early voting and mail-in voting. John Ingold, The Denver Post
