LITTLETON, Colo.—A 12-year-old girl is being credited with helping police arrest a registered sex offender on new charges.

Littleton Police say the girl was playing near a park Monday when a man tried to get her into his car.

The girl ran away but wrote down the man’s license plate number and called police. The tip led police to arrest 26-year-old Aaron Joel Lee of Centennial and charge him with felony enticement of a child.

Before the girl got home and called police, a woman flagged down an officer near another park in the area to report that a man had made “sexually graphic gestures” toward her. Authorities say they suspect that was also Lee.

Lee is a registered sex offender who pleaded guilty to misdemeanor exploitation in 2006.
