Mayor John Hickenlooper is about to hop on the hot seatgetting interviewed by Martin Short as Jiminy Glick.

I saw Hick Tuesday night cruising the ‘hood — welcoming the new Origins store on Fillmore Plaza. It’s a tea and makeup ultra-green operation from Estee Lauder. (Memo to Hick: It’s “Estee” Lauder, not “Estelle” Lauder.)

Then he jumped across the street to toast Jean Galloway and Sharon Magness on their upcoming 15th edition of Western Fantasy, a giant Volunteers of America funder.

He’ll be even busier Saturday night when he’s honored at the Denver Art Museum’s Collector’s Choice Gala and interviewed by Glick at the Paramount Theatre.

Short’s comedy show starts at 8 p.m. Glick is part of the act — he’s Short’s rotund Hollywood insider, known for his clueless ingratiating grasp on just about everything.

Jerry Seinfeld’s take on Glick: “You’re an overweight, frustrated, unsuccessful, stammering, stuttering, sweating, you know — completely out of your element, individual.”

Hick plans to sneak out of Collector’s Choice for his Paramount gig with Glick. “I’ll run over there for a minute, and he’ll make fun of me for a minute,” Hick says. “Good-naturedly, of course.”

And another character of Short’s, the extra nerdy Ed Grimley from “Saturday Night Live,” will introduce himself to The Fox radio’s hot morning personality Kathy Lee.

Caught red-eyed.

I thought I was still dreaming at 1:30 a.m. Tuesday when I woke up, turned on the TV and there was Mary Smith, chairwoman of the Denver Republican Party, as a guest on Fox News’ “Red Eye.”

The show is an edgy look at the day’s news hosted by the hyper Greg Gutfeld — not particularly conservative, but always peculiarly odd.

“I did a bunch of Fox when they were out here for the DNC,” Smith tells me. “I was in New York and it was totally fun and funny. We laughed our heads off even after the show.”

During the show, panelist Andy Levy said he’d heard Smith was a “big Republican.”

“I prefer ‘tall,’ ” Smith said.

She seems to be the flavor of the month for Fox News. You’ll be seeing more of Smith, and that’s a good thing.

Top teen.

East High grad Shonnetta Henry was just named Youth of the Year by the Boys & Girls Club of America. She’s the top teen!

After some speechifying, she’ll head back to Denver, arriving at DIA tonight. Give her a shout out.
