If the Rockies are in the hunt for October next season, their 18 home games in September could be a big advantage. The homestands are among the most striking features of the team’s 2009 schedule released Wednesday.

For the second year in a row, the Rockies will open on the road, this time at Arizona for a three-game set. The Rockies’ home opener is April 10 vs. Philadelphia.

In interleague play, the Rockies will host the Seattle Mariners and Tampa Bay Rays. The Rockies will go on the road to play the Detroit Tigers, Los Angeles Angels and Oakland Athletics.
