It’s been a big month for 12-year-old Highlands Ranch kid Tyler Weaver Jr.

He’s a black belt — and went on “Oprah” Sept. 9 to show off this moves. You can catch him at , but be prepared to be impressed. The clip even made it on “The Soup,” the talk-show Valhalla.

Then his dad’s school, Pro Rank Karate, landed in the middle of a national story when Kevin Kowalczik, Tyler Weaver Sr.‘s partner, took down a neighborhood robber with karate moves and a rubber gun. Every TV story included Tyler Jr. showing some moves. Jay Leno wants the karate crime fighters on his show.

Now comes word that two karate movies are in the works. Will Smith is remaking “The Karate Kid,” starring his son, Jaden Smith. No call from Smith — yet. But Paramount Pictures and James Cameron are making “Avatar” for a Christmas 2009 release — and they’re calling Tyler Jr. through casting director Douglas Aibel.

You wish.

Kevin Larson’s Wish nightclub opened Sept. 5 with a new rule. You have to be 25 or over to get in.

Now, two weeks later, it’s back to 21 and over.

“People were loving it,” says Larson. “The only drawback was that a group of people in their 30s would have one girl 23 in their group and wouldn’t even come down here. Turning away people because there is one 23-year-old girl would be nuts. ”

Larson says the club definitely skews to an older set, but everyone is welcome.

Piano man.

Rob Mullins was enormously popular in Denver about 20 years ago — and the jazz pianist is coming back.

Nightclub baron Regas Christou wants to kick-start the opening of his ampitheater, City Hall Event Center at 1144 Broadway, with a Regas Cafe reunion of sorts. Regas’ Cafe was his first jazz club, anchored by Mullins on the grand piano in the ’80s. Mullins will bring Joe Andries with him, who used to play with Images.

A one-night concert could take place Oct. 18. Go to to see what Rob’s been up to.

The hills.

The big party of the fall in the mountains is Friday’s opening blast-off for The Westin Riverfront & Spa in Avon. More than 1,000 people are expected to throw it down with Hazel Miller and Avondale chef Thomas Salamunovich.
