DENVER—An autopsy is planned on a decomposing body discovered Monday in the South Platte River in Denver.
Det. John White says a passer-by called police about 8:45 a.m. to report seeing a body floating in the water.
Denver Fire Department crews responded to the scene and recovered the body, which has not been identified.
The cause of death has not been determined, but police are investigating the case as a homicide, per standard procedure.
Authorities say it’s unclear how long the body has been in the water.
