Former cycling world champion and two-time Olympic team member Jeanne Golay of Glenwood Springs will be inducted into the U.S. Bicycling Hall of Fame this fall. Golay will join three others at the Nov. 2 induction ceremony in Davis, Calif.
Golay’s nomination is based on a resume that includes competing in the 1992 and 1996 Olympic Games, nine national titles and five world championship medals. She is the only American to compete in three cycling events in one Olympics, when she rode the individual road race, time trial and points race in 1996, and her bronze medal at the 1994 world championships was the last time an American has medaled in the road race.
The Class of 2008 features BMX pioneer Cheri Elliot, former USA Cycling president and current Atlanta Braves vice president Mike Plant, and the late Jimmy Walthour, a 1920s-era track racer.

Melissa Buhl of Chandler, Ariz., won the women’s race, and Tammy Donahugh of Boulder placed fourth. Lisa Myklak, also of Boulder, was eighth.
The racing will air Oct. 12 on CBS.
Super-G results.
Keely Kelleher of Big Sky, Mont., turned a Chilean training trip into a podium double last week when the alpine skier finished 1.2 seconds in front of Ski and Snowboard Club Vail athlete Erika Ghent of Edwards to win a South America Cup super-G race in La Parva, Chile. Development Team racer Alice McKennis of Glenwood Springs finished third in the first of two races. Kelleher was third in the second race.
