OMAHA, Neb.—A Nebraska state commission responsible for investigating discrimination claims plans to reach out to all sides of a community caught up in a prayer dispute.

Muslim workers at Grand Island’s JBS Swift & Co. plant have been asking for accommodations with break times to allow prayer at sunset. The issue has sparked protests by Muslim workers and counterprotests by non-Muslim workers.

In Colorado, more than 100 workers were fired at a Swift plant in Greeley last month in a dispute over prayer time.
