Tests revealed Broncos defensive tackle Josh Shaw suffered a torn groin in the game Sunday against the New Orleans Saints and will be out two to three weeks.
Signed by the Broncos after he was among the Oakland Raiders final cuts, Shaw suffered significant injuries in each game he’s played this season. He also played through a gashed left calf against San Diego that later required 40 stitches to close.
Another defensive tackle, Dewayne Robertson, was held out of practice Wednesday because of a sore right knee.
Broncos coach Mike Shanahan said Robertson is expected back to the practice field Thursday.
But with Shaw and Robertson ailing, expect Nic Clemons to get more involved with the interior rotation that also includes Marcus Thomas and Kenny Peterson.
