Dominion Resources Inc. amended its sale of natural-gas drilling rights in the Marcellus Shale formation in western Pennsylvania and West Virginia because the buyer, Denver-based Antero Resources Corp., had difficulty obtaining financing.
Closely held Antero will pay about $347 million for rights to 114,259 acres, Dominion said Wednesday. The original agreement, announced in June, called for Antero to pay $552 million for 205,000 acres.
