DENVER—The Colorado Avalanche reassigned three players to the team’s minor-league affiliate Lake Erie of the American Hockey League, dropping its 2008 preseason roster to 33.
Those reassigned Thursday were center Philippe Dupuis, and defensemen Kevin Montgomery and Michael Vernace Lake Erie.
The team trimmed its roster by 23 players Tuesday, with the bulk being reassigned to Lake Erie.
