BOULDER — University of Colorado junior point guard Whitney Houston will miss the season after tearing a ligament in her left knee during individual workouts this week.

Houston will undergo surgery within the next two weeks to repair the anterior cruciate ligament she tore Wednesday, coach Kathy McConnell-Miller said.

She will redshirt and still have two years of eligibility remaining.

Houston averaged 6.1 points and 1.8 assists in 59 games for the Buffaloes over the last two seasons.

McConnell-Miller also announced that sophomore guard Chelsea Dale underwent successful surgery to stabilize ligaments in her right ankle earlier this month. She’s expected back in December.
