
It will be hot in Denver today and the city may see record-setting heat.
The high temperature in Denver today is expected to be 89 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. The record high temperature for this date, set in 1998, is 91 degrees.
An upper level weather ridge centered over the central and southern Rocky Mountains is responsible for the warm, dry conditions in the state, the weather service said. Sunny skies in Denver and around the state today will contribute to the warm weather.
Today’s high temperature in Pueblo is expected to hit 90 degrees, according to the weather service, with a high of 87 degrees in Fort Collins and 85 degrees in Grand Junction.
Tonight’s low temperature in Denver should be about 55 degrees and skies under partly cloudy skies, the weather service reports.
Tomorrow’s high temperature forecast for the city is 87 degrees.
The weather is expected to cool off over the weekend, with high temperatures in Denver topping out in the lower 80s. Sunday there’s a slight chance of thunderstorms – 10 percent – in the city.
