GOLDEN, Colo.—The State Patrol says one person is dead after being ejected from his motorcycle.
Trooper Gilbert Mares says the accident Saturday afternoon happened after a mechanical failure in the motorcycle’s rear tire caused the driver to lose control and go off the road. Mares says 33-year-old Brian Hartzell of Colorado Springs died after crashing into fence post and being thrown from the motorcycle.
Mares says 30-year-old passenger Melissa Crabtree was airlifted to Denver Health Medical Center with serious injuries.
