EATON — A dispute between divorcing spouses led to a suicide in Weld County on Sunday afternoon, according to Eaton police.
The husband went to retrieve his belongings at their Cedar Street residence in Eaton and an argument erupted that led to the woman being assaulted, said Capt. Art Mueller.
The woman fought him off, ran out the back door and went to a neighbor’s home for help.
When police knocked on the door of the home shortly after noon, they heard a gunshot inside, Mueller said.
A SWAT camera went in and found the man dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, Mueller said.
