High country authorities confiscated a million-dollar haul of marijuana last week, pulling 890 plants from a field in a small, secluded canyon near Parachute.
The Two Rivers Drug Enforcement Team, a task force of drug-enforcement officers from numerous agencies, raided the field on Sept. 25.
No arrests were made, but investigators found evidence of a campsite nearby, where they suspect the person maintaining the patch was stationed off Garfield County Road 309.
The plants were up to 10-feet tall and fed by an irrigation system from a nearby stream, according to a news release.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the task force at 970-945-0744 or through its website at .
The Two Rivers Drug Enforcement Team is made up of officers from the Carbondale, Glenwood Springs, Rifle and Vail police departments and deputies from the Garfield County Sheriff’s Office.
