ALAMOSA — County authorities say a hiker discovered human remains in shallow grave near Great Sand Dunes National Park.
Sheriff Dave Stong said Monday the remains were found on private property Sept. 10.
It’s unclear whether the body was a homicide or suicide victim or had been buried by family. The El Paso County coroner and the Colorado Bureau of Investigation are assisting in the inquiry.
