Rock Bottom Restaurant & Brewery, which started along the 16th Street Mall 35 years ago, closed its two locations in Centennial and Highlands Ranch in recent weeks.

The Centennial outpost had been there for nearly 30 years, opening in 1997. Rock Bottom opened in Highlands Ranch in the late 2010s.

Itap not the only recent closure for the chain, whose website still lists locations in Loveland; Boston, Massachusetts; and a Chicago, Illinois, suburb.

The original downtown Denver store, which kicked off national brand expansion in the 1990s before contracting in the 2000s, shuttered in June on the ground floor of Independence Plaza. That move followed Rock Bottom closing a Colorado Springs location in April.

California-based Kelly Cos., which bought the chain in late 2024, and its CEO Michael Kelly did not respond to requests for comment from BusinessDen.
