COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—A man on parole following the random shotgun killings of two teenagers in Colorado Springs is being ordered back to prison for six years for drug crimes.
A jury convicted 28-year-old Jeron Grant in August for possession of crack cocaine and unlawful use of the drug.
Fourth Judicial District Judge Robert Lowrey ordered Grant to serve two three-year sentences consecutively.
Grant was convicted in 1998 of accessory to second-degree murder and accessory to manslaughter for the deaths of 15-year-old Scott Hawrysiak and 13-year-old Andrew Westbay. The teenagers were walking home when they were shot on Valentine’s Day 1997 in Colorado Springs.
Grant was sentenced to 12 years in prison and was paroled in 2006.
An accomplice is due to be released in 2010.
