Snow is falling in the mountains tonight.

The Pacific storm front now moving into western Colorado is expected to bring heavy snow to the mountains this weekend.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for the western mountains above 9,000 feet through Sunday night.

Forecasters say from 8 to 18 inches of snow could fall.

Strong winds could cause blowing and drifting snow.
