The Minnesota Wild is welcoming a new member to its team. Nordy, its first mascot, looks a little like a bear and a little like a fox, but the Wild won’t say exactly what kind of animal he is. They call him a hybrid of several wild animals. Nordy wears the number 18,001 and sports a mullet with a green “M” on his forehead. According to his official “biography,” Nordy was born in Eveleth, Minn., and cut his teeth on the ponds and lakes throughout the Iron Range. Fans will see Nordy at home games and various community events. He’ll also make hospital visits. The Associated Press
