AURORA — A suspect in a sexual assault on a 12-year-old girl that led to a mob beating a man believed involved has been arrested after more than four years on the run.
Domingo Lopez-Avaloy, 24, was arrested Thursday at an apartment in Charlotte, N.C. He is wanted in the Aug. 14, 2004, assault on a girl who police say was pulled into an apartment and sexually assaulted by at least two men.
Lopez-Avaloy is being held at the Mecklenberg County Jail in North Carolina awaiting extradition to Colorado. Lopez-Avaloy was one of four men suspected in the assault. One of those men is serving five years to life in prison.
