Nemechek and Denver-based Furniture Row Racing have been rock solid at Talladega Superspeedway this season. In Sunday’s race at the 2.66-mile tri-oval, Nemechek’s No. 78 Chevrolet stood in second place behind eventual winner Tony Stewart on the final restart with 10 laps to go. Nemechek finished 11th, the team’s best-ever result at the Alabama track. “I had a shot at the end but lost my position in the draft,” Nemechek said. “I think I gave Tony (Stewart) too good of a push. It must have helped — he won the race.” Nemechek won the pole in the spring race at Talladega, where he was 18th, but had a better race Sunday. “We had an awesome car, an awesome motor and an awesome weekend of racing,” he said. “We put it all together, and the performance will give our Furniture Row team a big morale boost for the closing races.”
