COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—A body found in a wooded area behind Colorado Springs’ Broadmoor neighborhood has been positively identified as that of a woman missing since Friday.
The El Paso County coroner’s office says 19-year-old Judilianna “Judi” Lawrence died from a cut neck, and ruled the death a homicide.
Authorities arrested 21-year-old Robert Hull Marko on suspicion of first-degree murder and sexual assault after he led them to a woman’s body on Monday. Lawrence had been reported missing Friday.
Sheriff’s officials say Marko had befriended Lawrence online.
Marko is a mortarman with the 4th Brigade Combat Team of the 4th Infantry Division. He served in Iraq from January 2007 to February 2008.
Marko is due back in court Monday.
