TBILISI, Georgia — A political opponent of Mikheil Saakashvili, the president of Georgia, called Monday for mass protests on Nov. 7, the first anniversary of a government crackdown on demonstrators that left 500 people injured. Levan Gachechiladze, who lost to Saakashvili in presidential elections in January, urged demonstrators to gather in front of the Georgian parliament in Tbilisi, the site of last year’s violence.
