DENVER—Authorities say at least one Denver branch of Chase Bank has been evacuated after it received a threatening note and white powder in an envelope.

Fire Lt. Phil Champagne said Monday the powder appears to be benign and isn’t believed to be a threat.

Champagne says a hazardous materials team responded to at least one other Chase bank in the Denver area, but details are sketchy.

Police spokesman Sonny Jackson referred calls to the FBI, which didn’t immediately return calls.

In Oklahoma, the FBI says two Chase bank branches in Oklahoma City and one in Norman also received threatening letters. FBI spokesman Gary Johnson says at least some of the letters contained a substance but it was not believed to be dangerous.

It’s not yet known if the Colorado and Oklahoma incidents are related.
