NEW YORK — Freddie Mac, the mortgage-finance company seized by the U.S. government last month, wants information about $1.2 billion in funds it transferred to Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc. in August and never got back.
The funds transferred to Leh man on Aug. 19-20 were to be returned Sept. 15 with accrued interest, Freddie Mac said in a request to question current or former Lehman employees that was filed Wednesday in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in New York.
