DENVER—A 15-year-old girl has died of injuries suffered when she was struck by a vehicle while crossing a street near her school.
Denver fire and Glendale police officials say Amelia Bates was crossing a busy five-lane street in front of George Washington High School with a friend Monday evening when she was hit.
The 10th grader died at a hospital Wednesday morning.
Police say the driver of the vehicle, 34-year-old Rajaraman Sundaram, faces a charge of careless driving resulting in death.
A crisis team is assisting students and staff at the school.
