LAPORTE, Colo.—A LaPorte man faces theft and trespassing charges after allegedly stealing political signs from neighborhood yards.
Larimer County authorities say 35-year-old Jeffrey Wolf was arrested Saturday amid three reports of signs being stolen from yards.
Deputies located a vehicle after receiving the third report about 11 p.m. Saturday, and say Wolf’s wife and four children were inside the vehicle when he allegedly took an Obama yard sign.
The deputies reported seeing stolen signs in the back of the vehicle.
Authorities say, when asked why he took the signs, Wolf told deputies he “thought it would be funny.”
Deputies say alcohol is suspected as a factor in the case.
LaPorte is six miles northwest of Fort Collins and 60 miles northwest of Denver.
