The National Hot Rod Association and Bandimere Speedway are as synonymous as smoking rubber and speed. And last week the NHRA and Bandimere solidified their partnership, despite the tough economic times that are hurting many aspects of elite racing.

Bandimere will continue to host its NHRA national event through 2011 and likely beyond, thanks to the track’s sponsorship extension with Mopar. The Mile-High Nationals will be in its 30th year in 2009, and Mopar will be attached to the event for the 21st consecutive year.

“This ensures that one of the longest continuous title-rights sponsorships in motorsports will continue on, and it speaks volumes to the value proposition in the NHRA Drag Racing Series,” NHRA executive Gary Darcy said in a release. “It’s also a credit to the entire team at Bandimere Speedway for their commitment to nurturing, growing, and retaining such a marquee sponsor as Mopar for so many years.”
