GOLDEN, Colo.—Two brothers will go to prison for their role in the shooting death of a man during a staged drug sale.
Prosecutors say 22-year-old Adam Joseph Zamora was the triggerman and will spend the rest of his life in prison without the possibility of parole. He was convicted of first-degree felony murder in July. Twenty-one-year-old Aaron Michael Zamora will spend six years in prison after being convicted of reckless manslaughter.
The sentences were handed down Friday.
Prosecutors say the Zamora brothers and three others conspired to rob $10,500 from 21-year-old Dylan Newman, who thought he would be buying marijuana from them in 2007. Prosecutors say Adam Zamora shot Newman after a struggle when Newman asked to see the marijuana.
