COLUMBUS, Ohio—The NHL suspended Columbus Blue Jackets forward Jared Boll for one game Friday and fined head coach Ken Hitchcock $10,000 for Boll’s instigator penalty in the final minutes of a win against Colorado.
Boll will miss the home game Saturday against the Chicago Blackhawks, Columbus general manager Scott Howson said.
The Blue Jackets earned a rare 4-2 victory at Colorado on Thursday night. The penalty carries an automatic one-game suspension and $10,000 coach fine.
Boll was activated from injured reserve on Tuesday after missing five games with a possible concussion. As a rookie last season, he had five goals, five assists and a team-high 226 penalty minutes in 75 games.
