“Opera Rocks the Rockies” is the concert series presented by the Central City Opera and University of Colorado Opera. The 90-minute concert includes staged scenes from “La Bohème,” “A Little Night Music,” “Candide” and “Lucia di Lammermoor.” The performers are members of the Central City Opera’s artist-training program. In addition to today’s concert, the group performs Tuesday at Colorado Christian University and Saturday at the Tabernash Church of Eternal Hills. Concert by one-handed pianist Mary Grace, who was born in the Philippines with a conventional left hand and a right arm that ends just past her elbow. After initial despair, she learned to play the piano. Her oeuvre of hymns and spirituals reflects Grace’s unflinching faith. The First Ladies of Air & Space exhibit honors astronaut Eileen Collins, aerobatic champion and stunt pilot Patty Wagstaff and commercial pilot Emily Howell Warner. The three will receive the Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum’s Spreading Wings award, which recognizes achievements in aerospace.
