LAFAYETTE — A man was killed in a nighttime fire at the Circle Motel in Lafayette, authorities say.
The name of the victim has not been released pending identification and notification of family, said Cmdr. Mark Battersby of the Lafayette Police Department.
The fire broke out at 9:53 p.m. Friday in one of the motel rooms at 200 W. Baseline Road, Battersby said.
No one else was injured. The fire was contained to one apartment.
