A shooting this evening in Lakewood left one man slightly injured, another on the lam and a girlfriend in custody.
Lakewood Police spokesman Steve Davis said two men got into an argument, either over drugs or a domestic situation, shortly after 6 p.m. in the 1600 block of Jay Street. One pulled out a small-caliber gun and shot the other, causing a wound that is not life-threatening, Davis said. The victim also received superficial stab wounds.
The shooter fled the scene and is described as a Hispanic male in his 20s, dressed in black clothing. A female accomplice was arrested at the scene.
A number of agencies set up a manhunt, including the Jefferson County Sheriff’s office and the Denver Police Department, which sent its helicopter in.
No identities were released.
