Breakout for Hillis:
Rookie fullback Peyton Hillis was the team’s leading receiver with seven catches for 116 yards. He even had a highlight reel-worthy hurdle on a big second-half gain.
Special specialists:
Kicker Matt Prater made his fifth field goal of at least 50 yards this season, while punter Brett Kern landed three punts inside Miami’s 20-yard line.
Defense improves:
Denver’s much-maligned run defense held Miami starter Ronnie Brown to 59 yards on 20 carries. Starting linebackers D.J. Williams, Nate Webster and Jamie Winborn combined for 24 tackles.
