Shares in Circuit City, which have traded under $1 for more than a month, rose about 38 percent on Monday’s announcement — a whopping 10 cents.
The company said last week it received a warning from the New York Stock Exchange that its stock price is not high enough for continued listing.
To regain compliance, Circuit City’s common- stock share price and the average share price over 30 consecutive trading days must both exceed $1 within six months of its receiving the notice.
