The Browns will be starting a virtual rookie quarterback Thursday night vs. the Broncos.
Yes, Brady Quinn time has arrived on the shores of Lake Erie. Question is, which quarterback will make the bigger mistakes on the Mistake by the Lake, Quinn or Jay Cutler?
The Broncos’ problems run deep and wide, but there’s no overstating the negative impact of Cutler’s poor performances of late. He has had a hand in most of the team’s 16 turnovers in the past five games.
Cutler is shrugging off his issues in public, saying after the Broncos’ latest debacle vs. Miami that quartebacks have good games and bad ones. Thus, we’re left to wonder how he really feels about things.
This much we know: If Cutler doesn’t return to being the player he was in the season’s first three weeks, the Broncos aren’t going anywhere. Even in the AFC West, arguably the league’s worst division.
The Broncos can’t rely on the Chargers to keep stinking up the stadium. At some point, they have to rely on themselves. Starting with their quarterback.
