A body was found in a Colorado Springs condominium unit after a fire this morning.
Colorado Springs firefighters responded to a call from 2224 Stepping Stones Way on a report of someone possibly trapped inside, said Jeff Siebers, a spokesman for the Colorado Springs Fire Department.
When they arrived at the scene, firefighters did not see smoke or flames coming from the unit, Siebers said. Upon entering the apartment, they did encounter smoke and found the body.
The incident is under investigation to determine whether it was accidental.
None of the surrounding condo units were damaged.
