DENVER—Three Colorado tax proposals aren’t faring well in early tallies.
Amendment 51 would increase the state sales tax to help the developmentally disabled. With 39 percent of the projected vote counted, it was failing 62-38 percent.
Amendment 58 would require oil and gas companies to pay more taxes to help pay for college scholarships. With 51 percent of the vote counted, it was failing 58-42 percent.
Amendment 59 would eliminate future surplus refunds under the Taxpayers Bill of Rights to provide more money for education. With 51 percent of the vote counted, voters were rejecting it 55-45 percent.
