A 46-year-old Superior contractor allegedly bilked an elderly Boulder County woman out of $200,000 in a business deal, authorities say.
Lawrence J. Abrams surrendered to police Oct. 6, and the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office is investigating whether there may be other victims, said Cmdr. Phil West.
Abrams has been released on a $250,000 bond. He has been charged with theft of an at-risk adult, West said.
Abrams allegedly received more than $200,000 from the elderly woman over the course of three years in a fraudulent loan deal, he said. Abrams never repaid the money, he said.
Investigators have found other questionable real estate transactions and believe there may be more, West said.
People who have questions about deals involving Abrams should call Detective Eric Simpson at 303-441-1713.
