It wasn’t Halloween but the Day of the Dead that brought out the ghouls on Saturday. Photos by Doug Beam.
frontman Duncan Barlow returned to Denver after a relatively long absence, allowing his band to reform for a Dia de los Muertos show Saturday night. The band took the stage in black suits and skull face paint, and performed in front a of an appreciative and large crowd, many of whom were still sporting costumes and hangovers from the night before.
It was both a hello and goodbye again for Barlow, who moved away for a job a few months ago, and an emotional performance for both the band and the fans. As one band member told me, “this is probably that last time we’ll play together for another year.” Check out photo essay of the night below.
