COLORADO SPRINGS — A dead body was found in a Colorado Springs condominium unit after a fire Tuesday morning.
Firefighters responded to a call from 2224 Stepping Stones Way with a report that someone could be trapped inside, said Jeff Siebers, a spokesman for the Colorado Springs Fire Department.
When they arrived at the scene, firefighters didn’t see smoke or flames coming from the unit, Siebers said. When they entered the apartment, they did encounter smoke and found the body.
The incident is under investigation to determine whether the death was accidental.
None of the surrounding condo units were damaged.
