A Halloween party led to a melee after a group of uninvited young men were asked to leave, Denver police said.

The host of the party at 1595 S. Raleigh St. and two of his of friends escorted the group of about six party crashers outside, where they were attacked and beaten, including with bats.

One of the three is still hospitalized and was, for a time, in intensive care at Denver Health Medical Center, said Denver police spokesman Sonny Jackson.

“The victims didn’t know these people, and when the assault started, everyone at the party scattered,” Jackson said. “Nobody saw where they went. At this point, we don’t know who these guys were.”

The group of young men were described as between 17 and 19 years old.
