Getting your player ready...

It took some serious searching, but I’ve come up with a silver lining from the Broncos’ 26-17 loss to the Dolphins.

It happened on a Sunday, and the Broncos play again Thursday.

“I think it’s going to be good for us,” said Brandon Stokley, when asked about the prospect of facing the Browns on Thursday night. “Any time you lose like this, you want to get back on the field and get that bad taste out of your mouth.”

Time will tell if the quick turnaround is a good thing for the Broncos. All we know right now is this: When we say quick, we mean really quick. How quick?

The Broncos had a special-teams workout Monday and a two-hour practice today. Wednesday’s schedule calls for an hour-long practice at 9:25 a.m. Soon thereafter, the players will head for the aiport for the chartered flight to Ohio.

That’s it. In a league in which coaches pride themselves as being hyperprepared, that’s all the preparation the Broncos will have made when they take the field Thursday night.

In other words, it isn’t going to be easy. But then, nothing has been for the Broncos of ’08.
