A 46-year-old Superior contractor allegedly bilked an elderly Boulder County woman out of $200,000 in a business deal, authorities say.

Lawrence J. Abrams surrendered to police on Oct. 6 and the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office is investigating whether there may be other victims, said Cmdr. Phil West.

Abrams has been released on a $250,000 bond. He has been charged with theft of an at-risk adult, West said.

Abrams allegedly received more than $200,000 from the elderly woman over the course of three years in a fraudulent loan deal, he said. Abrams never repaid the money, he said.

Investigators have found other questionable real estate transactions and believe there may be others, West said.

If people have questions about deals involving Abrams they should call Det. Eric Simpson at 303-441-1713.
