Dayspring Christian (9-0) at Granada (7-3), Saturday, 1 p.m. These teams are becoming more than familiar with each other. . . . The unbeaten Eagles flexed their muscle against Manuel Gonzales’ crew last year in the semifinals (47-17) in Granada and did so again in Week 1 (35-15) when they met halfway in Hugo. . . . Quarterbacks Jared Sanderford of Dayspring and Tyndan Marquez of Granada are the keys.
Stratton (9-1) at Hoehne (9-1), Saturday, 1 p.m. If the Farmers have their way, this game could be over quickly. . . . Last week against Haxtun, Hoehne rushed for 567 yards — 348 from Cody Roberts — and finished with over 600 yards of total offense.
Sanford (9-1) at Merino (9-1), Saturday, 1 p.m. Considering geography — and high gas prices, for that matter — it may sound hard to believe, but this is also a rematch of a regular-season game won by Merino 35-14. . . . The Rams should be completely healthy and will need to be to slow down Todd Crowther and Co.
McClave (10-0) at Caliche (8-2), Saturday, 1 p.m. It has become obvious that coach Shawn Randel knows what he’s doing. After winning a state title last season at Eads (6-man), Randel has the visiting Cardinals — who might be minus leading rusher Darron Williams — playing very well. . . . The Buffs will rely on Derek Weingardt to pace their high-powered offense.
