LARAMIE — If Chris Stutzriem couldn’t sing along before, the Wyoming quarterback is suddenly getting plenty of chances to learn the words now. Really, all the Cowboys are getting a crash course in Tennessee’s unofficial fight song, “Rocky Top.”

Wyoming can expect to hear it plenty Saturday when they play at Tennessee, but after the coaching staff played it 12 consecutive times during Tuesday’s workout at the indoor practice facility, the team is tired of the song.

Of course, that’s the idea — and it will be up to Stutzriem to quiet the Vols’ band after earning another start following last week’s win in his debut.

“I think I can’t get it out of my head,” Stutzriem said. “I mean, we’ve heard it all day. Weight room, in here (inside at practice); in the beginning we’re just like, ‘OK, it’s the fight song.’ ”

The Cowboys have plenty of reason to be pumped for a rare visit to the Southeastern Conference and one of college football’s finest cathedrals. Even with Tennessee struggling and soon to be looking for a new coach — Phillip Fulmer won’t be back next season — a Wyoming win would be a huge upset.

It also would give the Cowboys their only winning streak of the season and keep them alive for a possible bowl bid.
