With five players scoring in double figures, the University of Colorado women’s basketball team topped Division II Regis 86-44 in a preseason exhibition game Sunday at Coors Events Center in Boulder.
CU freshman guard Alyssa Fressle led all scorers with 18 points and seven rebounds. Kelly Jo Mullaney, a sophomore, added 16. And freshman forward Julie Seabrook had 10 points and eight rebounds for the Buffaloes.
Regis, which went on a 7-0 run to cut its deficit to 16-10 in the first half, was led by Lauren Luebbe’s 11 points.
DU sweep sends Pioneers to top of standings.
The Denver volleyball team moved into a tie atop the Sun Belt Conference West Division standings after sweeping visiting Louisiana-Monroe 25-21, 25-16, 25-11 at Hamilton Gymnasium.
The Pioneers (23-6, 12-4) are tied with Arkansas-Little Rock with two matches remaining in the regular season. Denver hosts Little Rock on Friday.
Holly Benson and Kerry Porter led DU with 10 kills apiece. Monroe dropped to 1-28, 0-15.
