DENVER — A suspected illegal immigrant is being held on $15,000 bond at the Eagle County jail after he allegedly led authorities on a high-speed pursuit and crashed his vehicle while driving drunk.
Deputies arrested 27-year-old Horacio Marquez on Sunday after the suspect’s car rolled on U.S. 6. He was not seriously hurt.
Sheriff’s officials say a deputy attempted to stop Marquez after he passed a patrol vehicle while driving 66 mph in a 35 mph zone.
Marquez allegedly failed to stop and continued eastbound on U.S. 6 through Avon at speeds reaching 85 mph.
He was arrested and jailed on suspicion of driving under the influence, vehicular eluding, possession of cocaine, reckless driving and possession of a forged instrument.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement has also placed a hold on Marquez.
